The Rainbow Appears After the Storm - A Dream Celebrating Trials Overcome
A rainbow dream is regarded as an auspicious one in dream interpretation. Just as a real rainbow only appears after rain, a dream rainbow can be read as celebrating that you have overcome or are overcoming some difficulty or trial.
In dream interpretation, the rainbow is sometimes taken to stand for the integration of opposites. Rain (sadness, difficulty) and sun (joy, hope) must coexist for a rainbow to be born. It can be read as the contradictions and conflicts in your life being integrated at a higher dimension.
In the Old Testament, the rainbow was the sign of God's covenant with Noah, a promise never to destroy the world by flood again. A dream rainbow may likewise be telling you that a hard stretch is passing. What you feared could end up not happening.
Size and Vividness Indicate the Scale of Fortune
A large rainbow spanning the entire sky sometimes suggests fortune affecting your whole life. Work, love, health, and relationships are thought to be turning upward. If you see this dream, it is worth starting something new.
One reading holds that the more vivid and clear the rainbow's colors, the clearer the fortune. Conversely, a faint, hazy rainbow can be read as a hint of fortune that needs your own action to seize. Even as fortune approaches, waiting passively may let it slip away.
A rainbow arching low could be called a cue to find happiness in everyday life. Rather than distant grand goals, it sometimes encourages you to notice small joys in the present moment. A high rainbow is thought to indicate long-term visions and big dreams moving toward realization.
Double Rainbows and Circular Rainbows - Fortune Beyond the Ordinary
A double rainbow dream is an auspicious dream that can be read as suggesting miraculous developments beyond ordinary fortune. The inner rainbow represents material fortune and the outer represents spiritual fulfillment, and together they may herald both being satisfied.
Buddhist tradition has a story of the rainbow body (jalus), in which practitioners approaching enlightenment emit rainbow-colored light. A double rainbow dream reads as a reflection of your spiritual growth moving forward. It could be called a fruitful stretch in which you can become rich in both material and spiritual dimensions.
A complete circular rainbow (normally only a semicircle is visible from the ground) symbolizes completeness and the completion of a cycle. The completion of a long-term project, the harmonious ending of one life cycle. This might be called a hint of things coming full circle.
A night rainbow (moonbow) may convey that hope exists even in darkness. Even if things are hard now, seeds of fortune could be growing unseen.
Reaching the Rainbow's End and Fading Rainbows - Pursuing and Losing Happiness
Walking toward the rainbow's end can be read as reflecting your active pursuit of happiness. Western legend places a pot of gold at the rainbow's end, yet the closer you approach, the further it recedes. This dream lends itself to a reading that holds the lesson that happiness is not something to chase but something to notice.
However, if you actually reach the rainbow's end in the dream, it sometimes suggests long efforts bearing fruit. A goal you have pursued without giving up may now be within reach. If you see this dream, do not hold back on that final push.
A fading rainbow can be taken as a caution that good fortune has its limits. Good fortune is not something that lasts forever. If there is something you have been postponing, it is worth putting it into action. A rainbow is valuable precisely because of its fleeting beauty. Do not miss that moment.
Fortune in All Directions - A Wave of Omnidirectional Luck
A rainbow dream is an auspicious dream that can be read as indicating overall fortune rising. Fortune's wave sometimes reaches across life, not just one area. To ride this wave, it is worth taking proactive action.
In love, rainbow dreams are thought to suggest fateful encounters or relationship improvements. For those with unrequited love, it can be taken as a cue to confess. For couples, a cue to talk about proposals or moving in together. Like the rainbow's 7 colors, diverse charm could be said to radiate from you.
At work, long-term projects may bear fruit. Promotions, raises, new business successes, and other visible achievements could appear. If you dreamed of a double rainbow, success beyond expectations is thought to await.
Financial fortune reads as turning upward. Unexpected income, investment turnarounds, and surprise gifts may come your way. However, if the rainbow faded in your dream, it is worth acting soon.
For health, one might say mind-body balance aligns and you are filled with vitality. Your physical condition sometimes turns upward. In the view that maps the rainbow's 7 colors onto 7 chakras, it is taken to reflect harmony throughout the body.
